Many lubricants, including commercially produced products can be spermicidal. This is true even though the products are not manufactured to be spermicidal. Generally this is because they have preservativbes in them that kill bacteria and may be toxic to sperm. Mineral oil or olive oil is probably not toxic, but can be messy.
