Thanks for all for your responses to my earlier post.
The shower was a nice family affair, and was attended
by the real 'guest of honor' -- my sister-in-law's newly
adopted son.
The hardest part of the event was by far listening to
all these women trade parenting stories. Fortunately,
no one put me in a defensive position by questioning
when we'll have kids, so I was able to hold my tongue
(at least until the family affair!). Perhaps I
underestimated the people I surround myself with. In
any case, I sometimes feel like this whole infertility
thing is a test of character -- and I'm failing
miserably. There has to be a way to turn this negative
energy & anger into something positive...
