My family lives in Vancouver too (though i don't), and i am from the east as well and can completely understand your emotions. Though i'm a little younger than you, and like you have a supportive immediate family (ttc 2 yrs), my husband is extremely supportive. It makes our marriage strong. But you know there are so many times i think my life is empty becuase this is something i cannot control, my career has suffered tremendously, and i can't look for a new job becuase all this monitering and ultrasound that would need to be done on a daily basis most employers wdn't sympathize with. I spent a decade in this country trying to get ahead ambitiously, and now i'm completely burned out. But you have to keep picking yourself up by hook or by crook, and move forward. Like you, most of my cousins my age (and younger), and several old and new friends are having kids, planned and not. So you're not alone. As Leslie so well put it, this is the place to vent out.
