: I was wondering if anyone knows why schoolcraft, who has the highest pg rates in the US, has complete bed rest for up to 72 hrs Post transfer,, and why the big clinc here don't... Has anyone here gone there???We're considering it..
: thanks

Serena,
Several studies have been done on bedrest after transfers vs. no bedrest and there's nothing which indicates any variance in pregnancy rates as a result. I stayed in bed for two days (self imposed) following my first (private) and second (NYU) IVF transfers - result was a chemical pregnancy and a disaster for the second one. After my third (NYU) IVF my husband and I went out to dinner in the city, the next day we went out on our boat, etc.,etc.,etc. This was the one that worked ... I basically ignored the fact that I had just had IVF and went about my business as usual. Also, remember when reading about success rates there are a lot of variables which go into these. Bottom line - no one has the magic formula as of yet and you need to do what feels right for you. Best Wishes, Debi
