What you are feeling is very very normal and understandable. No, you are absolutely not selfish. I'm sorry that you missed the AIA adoption seminar, where we work extensively on these issues. After running these seminars for several years I can tell you that everyone pretty much feels this way in the beginning. The thing about adoption is, it works. If adoption is the right option for you, (and only you can make that heartfelt decision), at the end of that road, there is always a baby. Just like with any emotional crossroad, there are issues to work out, but no one has ever told me that they regret their decision to create their families through adoption, once that baby is in their arms and hearts.
