The most important thing about a postcoital test is that it be properly timed. Mucous is only fertilie for a short while before ovulation. It turns cloudy immediately after ovulation. Before confirming that this is the cause of your infertility you should have all other factors tested. If you indeed do have poor mucous IUI works best.

: i had a postcoital test last cycle which showed thick mucus. now, this cycle i was put on prednisone to thin out my mucus. when i went in for another postcoital, my mucus seemed to be worse - it was thick and cloudy. what does this mean? how come the prednisone didnt work? could mucus consistency change from month to month?
