I am currently recovering from a lap. I had the surgery on Thursday. I have had some soreness and pain. It is still difficult to bend over. The surgery itself was not bad - the only thing was that I got sick in the recovery room from the anesthesia. I mostly lie in bed - the more rest I have, the better I feel. I went to work (I have a desk job) on Monday, but the pain was almost unbearable by the end of the day. I stayed home on Tuesday, but mostly because I didn't sleep the night before. It is difficult to sleep through the night because every time I move I experience some pain which awakens me. I was able to work today with no problems.

My doctor recommended a lap because I had an ectopic pregnancy in 1987. He thought there may be some scar tissue around my tubes even though they flow freely as evidenced by an HSG. He found some scar tissue on one side, though I don't know much more. I have a post-op appointment scheduled that I am looking forward to so that I can learn all of the details. I don't think it is going to be very positive.

Good luck with whatever course you decide to take! Please e-mail me if I can help.
