Dear Angela: None of the things you mention are contraindictions to Glucophage. However, although there is evidence that Glucophage favorably affects the hormonal profile with PCOS it is not clear how effective it is for the hirsutism or weight problem. You should see a reproductive endocrinologist to discuss this and other options. Good luck!
: I'm already on medication for high blood pressure. Can I take glucophage? I would like to try to alleviate my pcos symptoms (hirsutism, weight, etc). Also, is this drug safe if there is a history of breast cancer in the family? Any other suggestions?
