Stephanie: You are in luck. There are several very PCOS savvy doctors in the NYC area. Many of them have spoken at AIA events such as the PCOS Conference in October 1999 or the Infertility and Adoption Symposium last month. Two of them -- Dr. Steven Spandorfer and Dr. Daniel Stein -- are co-moderating this message board. Send me an e-mail with any preferences in terms of geography, insurance, etc. Also, AIA's May meeting in Manhattan will feature a talk about PCOS. The current (April) newsletter features a great article about PCOS and IVF by Dr. Spandorfer and Dr. Rosenwaks of Cornell. There are a lot of treatment options for women with PCOS that your ob/gyn may not be aware of so you are taking an important first step by deciding to see a specialist.
