Carmen: The decision to change doctors is a very personal one. In my case, I changed doctors after several years of unsuccessful cycles. In retrospect, it was a great move because I got pregnant the first cycle with my new RE. The facts that you have told us wouldn't necessarily motivate me to change doctors (yet) but everyone is different and you do need to feel confident in your doctor and his or her decisionmaking process. In terms of the one vs. two IUIs, I will say that my RE is at one of the top programs in the country and I've only done one IUI (and gotten pregnant two out of three cycles) so I wouldn't necessarily be concerned about that. As far as the breast tumour goes, I hope everything is okay. It seems reasonable to me to refer you to a specialist though three weeks is a long time to wait. I guess the bottom line is that you need to feel comfortable talking to your doctor about all of these concerns. If you are not, s/he may not be the doctor for you. Good luck, Ellen Bender, AIA Board Member
