I do, in fact, have two friends that this happened to. My RE has also told me that about 30% of her IVF patients get pregnant on their own after conceiving the first time with IVF.

I have one friend who went on Clomid for 6 months because she wasn't ovulating. She got pregnant with the Clomid on her 6th month of using it. When she decided to try again, she thought she would have to try Clomid again, starting doing bbt, and wham - she conceived all on her own.

My second friend got pregnant on her first IVF attempt. As she was going to begin the 2nd cycle to try for child #2, she became pregnant all on her own. She is still in shock!

So...it does happen. And I think it is somewhat common.
