Flare protocol is really for poor responders, and would most likely not be recommended for someone who does not have high FSH or high E2 on day 3. Have either drs tested both of these levels?

Down regulation protocol (flare down) has the best success rates, and is what most REs seem to favor for good responders. Besides, no RE should be doing just one protocol for all women, as we are very variable in our medication needs. At my IVF orientation I was told there are 22 different medication protocols.

: Help! I am switching REs. One of the doctors does a flare-up regimen which is starting Lupron on day 2 and retrieval on day 12. My other RE does a flare-down regimen which is starting Lupron on day 23 and retrieval 21 days later.

: What is the difference of success rates and why are there different protocols?
