I had a low beta result of 11.6 recently, so will tell you what my dr told me: low betas can result in healthy babies, but more often they are a sign that something is wrong and most likely it is a defective embryo. For me it meant I was also more likely to have a miscarriage further down the road. I found it very frustrating to get this result as it is such a gray zone, but it is not uncommon. Until you retest you won't know for sure. What is more important than the initial level, is that the betas double. Good luck and I hope you prove them wrong!!

: I'm 16dpiui. Nurse just called and said my beta is 5.8
: which is borderline negative and that anything 5 and below
: is negative. Does this mean I am not pregnant? AF has
: not arrived yet, just some brown spotting. Doctor wants
: me to come in Monday for another beta.

: Please advice.
