KST,

Clomid is the brand name used by the manufacturer (Hoechst Marion Roussel) for clomiphene citrate. In the early 1980's another company decided to market clomiphene citrate under the brand name Serophene. The other company was Serono (get it...? SEROphene). There is no non-branded generic form of clomiphene citrate on the market that I am aware of. Serono's brand is often treated as the generic by pharmacists. Both drugs are the same substance manufactured under quality conditions. I would use either brand with confidence.

: Do you think there is any loss of benefit by taking a "generic" version of clomid? My perscription plan doesn't cover the generic or brand version of this (I'm in SC). I went this route last year and wonder if it may not have helped because of the generic version. (She started me out at 50 and increased me to 150, still no luck.)

: Thanks!
