This seems like an obvious question about which we should have evidence based information... we don't.

Some possible proposed hazards of dental work arise from exposure to local or general anesthetics, mercury in the fillings, or to the stress of dental work itself. Very few authors have examined these questions. When they have the most common conclusion is that they are unable to find a negative effect.

My take is ... if you need dental work, get it done. There is not enough evidence to persuade me that you should walk around in pain.
If you can wait until after your pregnancy test... wait. You don't need one more thing to worry about, or to blame yourself for if you do not become pregnant.
If you become pregnant, tell your dentist. Dentists have a lifetime of experience of taking care of women with dental problems who are pregnant.
