: I too had a succesful pg at NYU - but am not as enthralled as you - trying for a second child and am being held on Lupron b/c they are so busy - were you held on your cycle ie. start Day delayed and took lupron, I am being held for two weeks and can't believe that it is not going to negatiavely affect my cycle. Congrats on your twin boys

MJL,
No I wasn't put on a Lupron hold but two of my girlfriend's who now have twins were on Lupron holds for their cycles. I know it's hard to believe but this will NOT affect your cycle. Lupron literally puts your ovaries to sleep and you could stay on Lupron for much longer than two weeks with it doing no harm. I don't think there is any medical support for this - but I actually know of a few women who are otherwise poor responders who have responded MUCH better after being put on Lupron hold (I'm sure this is probably just coincidence but ... ) NYU really wants you to get pregnant too - they would never do something as routine as this which would affect anyone's cycle. Did you read my reply to your earlier post? If you're making yourself nuts about this then by all means call your RE and ask him/her to explain the "mechanics" of it to you in greater detail. You're paying a lot of money for this cycle - detailed explanations are included in the cost. When is your hold over? Bye for now. Debi

: : : Hi Debi,

: : : It's been a while...hope all is going well with you and your wonderful family. Twins...I still can't get over that. I've decided to maybe try again and so I've made an appointment at NYU, with Dr. Berkley for a consultation. Who was your Primary there? Any feedback, in general, would be much appreciated. My e-mail address is attached if you'd rather e-mail me privately. Thanks. Vanessa

: : Hi Vanessa,
: : My primary at NYU was Nicole Noyes (who we truly adore) but Dr.B was very involved in my second cycle as it was exploding before our eyes. I was a mess - he was wonderful. Hopefully you'll hit it off with him - if not - don't be afraid to admit it and try another RE there. I can't say enough wonderful things about the program and the care I received at NYU. When is your appt. scheduled for? Feel free to drop me a note if you have any specific questions. xo Debi
: : P.S. The boys are doing great - thank you for asking about them :)
