Remember that a high FSH on day 2 or 3 only comes from an egg problem. You are corect in retesting a high FSH, but the value should not be ignored in determining the cause of your infertility. Clomiphene can evoke a high FSH if you have the tendency for poor ovarian reserve. This is the basis for the clomiphene challenge test. While no FSH reading can accurately predict whether you can get pregnant, the elevated reading does explain why you have not yet conceived. Don't be upset, but do pay attention to the values.

: Hi

: Four months ago my FSH level was normal and now after
: 3 mos. of Clomid and 1 mo. of Gonal F my FSH level was extremely elevated (from 7.3 to 24). I am very upset about this... and will have to retest next month to hopefully have IVF.. Is this common? Any words of comfort... I am 38.

: Thanks!
