The decision to do assisted hatching should be up to your RE and the embryologist. While it is very appropriate to ask about the procedure, it should not be done by a lab that is uncomfortable with it. It may not so much be the assisted hatching, but rather the expertise of the lab that determines the rate of success in a woman at 40. At St. Barnabas we perform assisted hatching on any embryo that has fragmentation. This is only one of many laboratory procedures that account for the excellent results at St. Barnabas. Many equally good labs do not find this to be efficacious.
Find a program where you are comfortable with the medical and embryologic staff.

: Hi,
: I am 40. I need to make a decision right now if to use the assisted hatching treatment on my day 3 transfer. The clinic I am going have not seen better results with the AH.
: My question is should I take the chance to do assisted hatching? Since they may damage the Embryos. I do not feel comfortable to do AH in this clinic. Could you please give an advice?
: Thank you !
