: I am almost 43, with normal FSH/e2 levels, who failed IVF#1 on a "stop lupron"/6amps gonal-f protocol (I had 4 high grade embryos and all other numbers were normal).

: A recent study shows that "long lupron" (standard down reg) protocol improves implantation and pregnancy rates.
: My RE does not classify me as a poor responder, therefore, for IVF #2, he changed me to long lupron (0.5mg then 0.25mg with stims)/6amps gonal-f protocol.

: Does it make sense to add more lupron when trying to increase # of eggs in a 43 y/o patient? Most other RE's treating >40 seem to move towards giving less, not more in this situation. What is your opinion?

I think if you are not a poor responder than taking the Lupron as you are doing makes sense. Good luck
