Dr. B- thank you for answering my question. I am getting the literature you suggested on donor sperm. We are a discordant couple- he is HIV+ and I am negative- We have always had safe sex and he is symptom free and being managed. I found this board and am happy to read all these posts. Do you know if there are any barriers to us being able to qualify for IVF with donor sperm? Is the fact that his HIV status is + make us not candidates? We so want to have a child and this issue of biological is not a question for him- I would like to experience pregnancy and we are now trying to get some info before we get hopeful. I should also add that I am 40 and have had one pregnancy 10 years ago that was fine. Do we have any hope for IVF or does his status negate any attempt at inquiring? your help is appreciated.
