Thank you all for replying. Allie, I'm so, so very sorry to hear about your husband. You are so brave to help others even in your time of distress. To answer others who wrote, i am an IF patient at Cornell for almost 2 years now. I will take up the idea of emailing Dr. Schlegel directly, though, i feel quite sure his secretary reads it first. She's been quite difficult to deal with even though we liked Dr. Schlegel a lot. Right now, we've made an appt to see Dr. Nagler which is still several weeks away. My husband's primary care physician is not willing to refer to more than one physician, and cost is a factor, so we'll have to wait and see how he is. If we're not satisfied, then we can talk to Dr. BarCharma. Unfortunately, my husband's hydrocele area is giving him pain and he needs to see someone right away. Guess for immediate checkup, we'll have to tried harder to see Schlegel. This process is driving us crazy. Nevertheless, i appreciate all your replies. To any doctor who's reading, is it common for pain to occur in the area of the varicocele when a hydrocele develops? Varicocelectomy was done in June '98 (count improved somewhat). Thanks again

Zinny
