: My dh has a really low sperm count < 1 ml. We had our first
: appt with Dr. Bar-Chama at Mt.Sinai. I also made an appt
: with Dr. Nagler at Beth Israel. Does anyone have any info
: on either one, I keep hearing about Goldstein at Cornell but
: he doesn't take our ins. Also I need to see an re, Bar-Chama
: recommended the two at Mt Sinai he works with, does anyone have
: any experiences good or bad with them ??

my dh saw dr. nagler and he was GREAT!! he has a wonderful sense of humor and is very knowledgeable. When we were waiting on test results, Dr. Nagler HIMSELF called us to tell us the results, not the nurses. This was a big change for us. My brother in law saw dr. Bar chama and he said he was nice but he didn't like what he did for him. He also had low sperm count and Dr. Bar Chama put him on clomid to increase it (very controversial) and it actually DECREASED A LOT!!! They had to wait three months to see if it worked and then when it was worse they had to wait another three months for the new sperm to produce to try IUI. His numbers never went all the way back up. They ended up doing IVF at NYU and got pg on the first try. I guess it depends who you ask. Hope this helps. If he suggests clomid just do your research BEFORE trying it, my SIL wishes she would have.
