Nestler and colleagues studied the effects of d-chiro-inositol on 22 women and found that it increases the action of insulin and improved ovulation in some of the women. (N Engl J Med 1999;340:1314-20) This is experimental and too early to tell if it will have any clinical value.

Spironolactone is an antiandrogen and can help to treat acne and hirsutism. It does not increase ovulation or fertility.

I don't know what Tireodin is. Maybe you can educate me...?

Do you have PCO? Are you being treated? How was your diagnosis made? Has your doctor recomended these treatments?

: Can you tell me what can Spironolactone, Tireodin and D-Chiro-inositol can do for PCOS. How effective is it?
: Also i want to know how does PCOS starts? As you born, when you start your first mensense, at the age of 20 or it can start at any age???
: What if you are not overweight and not insulin resistant, but don't have period and have hirsutism?
: Then what is the best treatment for that case?
: Is it possible to be normal all your life and then suddenly have PCOS? and get all those symptoms suddenly?
: Please reply.
