My RE submitted a predetermination letter to our insurance company
(Empire/United Healthcare) for IVF/ICSI for severe male
factor infertility (antibodies post vas reversal).
I received their decision today -- they are denying
payment for IVF, ultrasounds, transfer, etc for me....however,
they are approving my DH for ICSI and MESA to treat his male
factor infertility. WHAT GOOD IS ICSI WITHOUT AN EGG FROM
ME?????????
Has anyone successfully 'educated' their insurance company
about human reproduction and the need for both a sperm ]
and an egg????
I am awaiting a copy of my insurance contract to see if there
are anymore angles to approach this from.
