I had bad cramping. I had some cramping and bleeding after for about a day. It wasn't as bad for me as you are describing. I don't remember even taking advil or anything. I went out to lunch with my husband after my first hsg. So....basically, I don't know the answer to your question. Just it wasn't that bad for me. Maybe repost this question and put it to the doctors' attention. Good Luck..I hope you feel better...OH>>ONE MORE THING!!! I noticed that you are still seeing an OB/GYN. Not to scare you or anything, but you probably should be seeing an RE in my opinion. AND...when you go for your first RE appointment, get your films from the hsg and bring it to them. I was told that my tubes were open the first time I had the hsg. When my RE looked at my films. He had questions as to weather or not my tubes were open. As it turns out, I had an ovary attached to my tube. Call the place where you had your hsg and tell them you want the films. There will probably be a small fee.
