Most follicles over 18 mm are mature. Follicles under 16 mm are rarely mature. Follicles over 30 mm are considered cystic and may not contain mature eggs. HCG should be timed relativel early in the process of follicle maturity.

: I was wondering how large a folicule must be on "the day of" HcG admin. in order to be consider mature and also how big is too big for fertilization? I am undergoing IUI this weekend and was wondering what size would give us the best chance. Thanks for your input
