: Dear A: There are a few possibilities. You may start to bleed any day now since it may take up to a week to start bleeding after progesterone. Rarely, even patients with PCOS ovulate on their own, and if you did just ovulate then you would be producing your own progesterone and this would delay your period until about 2 weeks after the ovulation (or you might even become pregnant and not bleed!) And yes, since the dosage to induce menses is generally 400mg at bedtime for 10 consecutive days (4 Prometrium pills- we hope they'll soon start to manufacture 400 mg pills or at least 200 mg pills- the dosage usually given for menopausal hormone replacement) you may have received insufficient progesterone to induce a period. Finally, it's also possible that your endometrium is too thin at this moment to respond to progesterone, either because you just don't have enough estrogen on board right now, or, perhaps the excess androgen (male hormone) associated with PCOS is outweighing the estrogen effect on the endometrium. Of course you need to discuss this with your own physician but I hope this was helpful.

: : I have PCOS. My doc gave me Prometrium this time istead of Progesterone. I took one pill/once a day/ for 5 days. It hhas been 4 days since i stop taking it and i sill didn'y bleed. Why? Was that the right dosage? I usuly bleed with Progesterone. Please help me.
