Dermoid Cysts are essentially collections of a variety of tissues, including fat, hair, and occasionally teeth. It is unclear how they form but they are generally completely benign. Occasionally they are found in both ovaries. They can be removed surgically (laparoscopy) and patients generally do very well after surgery. They are rarely a cause for additional concern. Good luck.
