: I just ran acrss this site and I'm so over whelmed with all the information. My husband and I recently found out that we would have to use IVF to get pregnant. I see so much great information for New Yorkers but I live in Texas so most of it doesnt appy to us. If any one out there has ANY information/recommendations for us to get started, it would be greatly appreciated. Please E-mail me at .
: Many Thanks,Sandra

Hi Sandra!
This quite a long subject, IVF. IVF was originally used for women who had blocked fallopian tubes. I am not sure what your diagnosis is. If your doctor has not given you any other option, well then this the route you have to go. IVF and infertility in general is emotionally draining, stressful, time consuming, and costly. It is an expensive procedure that lasts about two months, costs about $10,000 unless you have insurance to cover all or part of the procedure. The best clinics in the New York area are Cornell, NUY they both are in Manhattan, or St. Barnabus in New Jersey. I know quite a bit about IVF, I've been through 4 IVF's. Depending on your age is what determines your success rate. You'll most likely need more information than what U am giving you, You can either e-mail me at or you can do a search on your computer. AIA is a great support group for people who are going through any kind of infertility problems. Starting off with a support group is the best route to go. It makes you feel like you are not alone and believe me this is best. Anyway, if you need more info., e-mail me, or you can try inciid.org, parentsplace.com those two sites may help you as well. Good Luck to You
