But here's what I know. I just had ICSI on both IVF cycles and got 100% fertilisation on first cycle and pretty close to that on second cycle. We have a poor morphology factor. I asked Dr. Veecks the Cornell embryologist abt problems with ICSI - catching slow sperm etc. She said first of all they go for the fast swimmers, and also they'd studied the babies born from ICSI and saw no increase in birth defects etc.

I just had assisted hatching on 2nd cycle which was successful and the only downside to this is just make sure you have it done at a top lab because this kind of work on the egg is very delicate.

Good luck

: I'm new to all this, but must go through IVF now. Male infertility. My question is my doctor wants to do ICSI and Assisted Hatching. I've heard negative things about both. I am healthy. I've heard children might be "slower" because quality of sperm is so low and assisted hatching might hurt chances of pregnancy. Does anyone know anything on this? Thanks in advance.
