Dear TAN:
The endometriosis is the likely "cause" of your infertility. The uterine lining is important for implantation but is usually improved when gonadotropins are used. Clomid can sometimes have a negative impact upon the lining of the uterus. Since you have not conceived with clomid, you should probably move on to injectable gonadotropins plus IUI or IVF.
Endometriosis does not occur in the lining of the uterus, so I am not sure I understand "borderline III endo at the lining of the uterus". Endometriosis is tissue that looks just like tissue from the lining of the uterus that grows outside the uterus. Hope this was helpful. Good luck to you.

: Dear Doctor:

: I have been ttc for two years. Had all testing done and my DH
: and I were fine, diagnosed with unexplained infertility. In February I did IVF
: which failed. I went to another RE and because I don't want to do IVF
: again unless necessary, I have been doing IUI's with Clomid, after my
: second failed IUI I decided to do a lap. They found stage II, borderline III endo
: at the lining of the uterus. My tubes and uterus were fine.

: My question is since I had a failed IVF, which skips the tubes,
: could my endo be the cause of me not getting pregnant. How important
: is the uteran lining for implantation etc.?

: Thank you very much.
