You should check with your doctor or nurse because every program has their own particular preferences. In addition, there may be individual variability. Some men with low counts may do better with longer abstinence. On the other hand, longer abstinence tends to decrease motility. In general, abstinence should range from 2 to 6/7 days. : I'm due to have my retrieval probably on Friday or Saturday of this week. What is the minimum/maximum amount of time recommended for abstinence from intercourse before the procedure so the sperm is of the best quality? Thanks.
