I'm not a doctor, but have been through this myself a few times. I have been held up both with lupron or BCPs. It was explained to me that this has no effect on the cycle, the bcps just put you in a holding pattern and the length of time on them has no bearing on the outcome of the cycle. I know the major clinics all do this, and although it is so frustrating and seems like you are jeopardizing your cycle, I think it is ok. For my successful cycle I was on bcps until the lab ok'd me to start my stims. I don't remember how many days I was on them, but I do know it was not for the traditional 21 days. I had my best response ever for this cycle. IF you are in a good clinic, you can trust this process. Good luck.
