: Hi all--I was surprised to read in the 1997 CDC clinic reports that Cornell's program (CRMI) does not offer its services to single women. Neither their website nor the written materials address this. Does anyone know if this is true? If it is, what is the rationale for denying care to single women like myself? I found this very shocking, since these are supposed to be top-notch physicians who I would not expect to withhold care from someone based on her social status.

Natalia,
I was so taken aback by your post that I had to hop over to the SART report and take a look for myself. Unbelievable. I'm not sure anyone on this board will actually be able to give you an answer to this question partly because I don't think most of us KNEW this - pretty wild. Anyhow - NYU IVF DOES welcome single women with open arms. Their program is equally as strong as Cornell (although this comment frequently causes a debate on this board - the two programs are VERY comparable.) AND as a single woman looking into ART ... we would LOVE to have you as a regular participant on the AIA Board !!! Welcome.
