Your response seems quite good. I find it very helpful if patients write all their questions on a memo pad that is always around, so that you can jot down all your questions as they come up. This is particularly helpful for those late night questions that always arise as you are trying to go to sleep. Since you should see your RE very frequently during an IVF cycle you should have an organized way to present all your questions between visits.
Good luck,

: Doctor,
: I know it is WAY too early to tell at this point anything in terms of future egg quality and maturity, but I hope you will appease me with my need to know something more about my progress than I am doing "fine". I am almost 39 with unexplained infertility. I started Lupron seven days before my period and remain on Lupron (half dose 1x a day)now with Fertinex 2x a day. I have been on Fertinex for three days and learned on ultrasound this morning that if the count is accurate, there are 8 follicles on one ovary and seven on the other ovary. Again, I know that nothing can be determined at this stage about the eggs, but in terms of the number of follicles, am I below average, average or above average for my age of 38/39? Also, am I correct in my understanding that at this point the number of follicles will remain constant for this cycle? I know I should have asked my own RE but it didn't occur to me at the time and I didn't want to interrupt his weekend since I was told my bloodwork and ultrasound were "fine". Thank you for your response!
