: i went in for an ultrasound the other day and the technician said it was hard to see my ovary; that i had active bowels. is it possible that your bowels could "hide" your ovary so you can't see it on ultrasound? also, i'm on glucophage, so can that be a reason my bowels are active?
: thanks for your help.
The ovary is usually easy to distinguish from surrounding structures, including the intestines. Occasionally, the ovary is hard to see and this could be due to it's position. If it is bedind the uterus, visualization becomes more difficult. If the ovary is hard to see due to intestines, your scan should be repeated because the vcondition and position of the intestines will change. I cant comment on the glucophage. Dr. Licciardi
