We are in the process of building a new home ourselves and therefore will have a good bit of equity once we are through. This is the only way that we have found to finance IVF.

I've seen others take out personal loans. One lady suggested taking out twice as much as you would need so that you could pay the monthly notes with the extra borrowed. You would just have to be very reserved and not dip into the extra for any reason. She said that this would give you several years of paid monthly notes before you would have to actually start paying out of your salary. I'm not sure if I would do this, because it seems you would be paying a great deal of interest on extra money. But if you are considering using credit cards, then your best bet may be a personal loan with a lower interest rate. Hey, we do what we have to do don't we? Even going into debt to achieve our dreams and goals.

Good luck! Maybe one day we'll live in a country where we are not charged so much for a procedure to help us achieve a pregnancy or perhaps insurance companies will take over the responsibility. It just seems we are being taken advantage of one way or the other.
