Last week, I was diagnosed with balance translocation between 1 & 20, and am scheduled to talk to a genetic couselor this week.
Can someone explain why the break point location makes a difference? My RE gave me a brief overview of scenarios and odds of a normal pregnancy. I don't understand how the break point increases or decreases my odds. The only thing I'm thinking is that some break points allow for the survival of unbalanced translocation (am I even close?). Can someone please explain the importance of the break?
Thanks in advance.
