How The AIA Can Help You

The American Infertility Association, a national, non-profit organization, offers information and support to people with infertility. Infertility, which affects about one in six adult couples, is defined as the inability 1 ) to conceive after one year of trying or 2) to carry a pregnancy to a live birth.

The AIA provides a range of services designed to help you gather information about medical treatments, options, coping techniques, legal and insurance issues, among other concerns. One of its goals is to help couples make informed decisions throughout the infertility process.

Recognizing that infertility and pregnancy loss are often hard to discuss with friends and family who may not have had problems conceiving, the AIA has regular forums for sharing information and experiences, to help end painful feelings of isolation, and to empower you to become a knowledgeable consumer of medical services.
