: First of all, I wish you the best of luck! IVF can be a stressful time. Much of our (physician's) recommendations to patients during this time period are unproven but sensible. Avoid heavy lifting or exertion because enlarged, stimulated ovaries may twist on themselves. This is uncommon but a very serious problem requiring immediate surgery and possible loss of an ovary. There is no special dietary plan - just eat healthy. The best advice is to treat yourself well. That is, make time to relax and enjoy the life that is occurring while you await your cycle. Other than that, I have little to add except my good wishes.
: : I will be starting an IVF cycle next week. Are there any helpful hints, e.g. Pamper yourself to relax, make your life stress free, foods to avoid, exercise, if any, etc.

: : I know there was a meeting last month on this topic, but I was not able to attend. Did anyone attend?

: : Any advice would be appreciated.

I have gone through invitro 5 times and have two children from it. My suggestion to you is to avoid caffeine. From what I have heard, caffeine has been linked to eairly miscarriage. Also, I used visualization techniques. I visualized the embryos attaching to my uterus. As time went on I visualized the embryos growing. Of course I was talking to them the whole time. I wish you the best of luck!!!!! If you have any other invitro questions feel free to email me any time. Sharon
