Roni: I'm sorry to hear about your failed IVF attempt and all the other things that are going on with you. You may want to see another doctor, someone who is more up to date on some of the newer treatments for PCOS, like the insulin sensitizing medications mentioned in the LHJ article and a lower carbohydrate diet. AIA hosted a conference on PCOS in October 1999 and we were fortunate to have as a speaker a reproductive endocrinologist from the University of Chicago who gave a great talk on PCOS. You might try contacting him. His name is Randall (Randy) Barnes and he is a colleague of Dr. David Ehrmann who is doing a lot of research on PCOS and insulin resistance these days.
