Hi, I am newly diagnosed and need advice....

Ok, this is how I add up:
FSH - 5
LH - 13.2
Fasting insulin - 29
Fasting glucose - 78
Prolactin - 11.7
Total Testosterone - 40
Cholesterol - 193
GTT - One hour mark - 93
GTT - Two hour mark - 57

My RE told me that the abnormal fasting insulin is enough for her to recommend Glucophage. I started it five days ago, 500MG twice a day with food. She said that my GTT was strange because it showed low blood sugar at the two hour mark, but that it was probably due to my body overcompensating for insulin resistance?

Not too many of the normal side effects so far...just a little nausea and stomach upset. My biggest problem is with dizziness and lightheadedness, especially in the morning. I am also very sleepy in the morning. I called my RE and the nurse in her office told me that it's probably the low blood sugar again and said to eat something to help regulate it. Is this a normal side effect for this med and if so, will I outgrow it as my body adjusts to the meds?

I have also noticed that my hunger has totally dropped off....no more carb cravings. I almost have to force myself to eat or drink something when I have a low blood sugar episode. I am just not hungry anymore. Is that normal?

I welcome any comment, thoughts and/or suggestions. Tryin' to learn as much as I can about this now that it is my reality.....

Thanks,

Suz
