Dear Andi: I'm sure you'll think up quite a few questions between now and October but here are some suggestions: 1- What symptoms are bothering you? (Remember, if you're removing your excess hair you need to fully describe the extent of the problem.) Make sure the RE understands which are your major concerns. 2- What lifestyle changes can you make to improve your health? 3- Do you desire fertility now or possibly in the future. What should you expect when you are ready to coneive? 4- When discussing treatments, make sure you have a good understanding of why you are on a particular medication, how quickly you will notice an effect, and what side effects you may expect. Remember, if excess hair is a problem effective medical treatment must be accompanied by permanant hair removal (such as electrolysis) for hairs that have already become thick and dark. Good luck!

: Thanks to all of you who convinced me (on the message boards and in the chat) to move beyond my OB/GYN and find an RE. I discovered several highly recommended RE's in my area, and got a referral to one. Now, as I wait for my appointment (in OCTOBER!!), I am thinking of questions I need to ask her. Does anyone have any advice for me? I want to ask things like, what tests will we run, etc... but I don't have a clue what tests I NEED, so I won't be able to tell if I'm getting an honest answer or not. Any advice ANYONE can give me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
