<<<<: Insulin resistance is hard to test for sometimes. Obese women with PCOS are likely insulin resistant despite lab results. What bothers you most? Hair? Obesity? Menstrual irregularities?>>>>
***The obesity, acne, and the hair! I have struggled with my weight all of my life. Three years ago I had obesity surgery and lost 80 lbs., and now I have gained 40 back with in one year and I am not eating anymore than I did to lose the weight? Please help!! Tell me what you think would help me with all of these sx? I want to THANK YOU so much for your time!!**

: : I first have to apologize that this is so long, I have so much going on with my health that I sort of feel like it is getting the best of me:( I need some advice! I have listed my blood results to help.
: : THESE WERE DRAWN 6/15 (no period for 3mo +)
: : Androstenedion 223 ng/dl
: : Estradiol 39 ng/dl
: : FSH Serum 3.8 miu/ml
: : LH Serum 21.5 miu/ml
: : Prolactin serum 5.7 ng/ml
: : Testerosteron Total 5.7 ng/ml
: : DHEA 111 mcg/dl
: : These were drawn by my Endo (first visit to him) and my numbers are done with 8+ hours of fasting.
: : *Cholesterol 151 mg/dl
: : *Triglycerides 117 mg/dl
: : *HDL Cholesterol 36 mg/dl
: : *Glucose 76 mg/dl
: : *Thyrotropin 1.77 mU/L
: : *Insulin 5 mU/L
: : *Prolactin 9 ug/L
: : *Testosterone 42 ng/dL
: : *LDL Cholesterol 92 mg/dl
: : *But, blood draw was on the 19th and on the 22 I got my period (by myself 1st time in over a year and a half that I got it without Provera) So I am not sure if that affects the test at all.
: : Anyways, I am wondering what to say to him. He talked about doing nothing at all if the IR doesn't show up on the test. I cannot take the pill due to migraines (I was hospitalized for 3 + days from them) So, they do not want to use the pill, he said that Spiro's side effects were not worth it’s results as "I don't have that much hair to worry about." So, I don't know what to say or do? I need your help, I feel like I have been fighting for so long that I should just give up! The only thing that I have been able to get them to tell me is YES, I do have PCOS. And that I do have the cyst's on my ovaries but other wise everything is "normal"! NOT! Should I still try to get him to put me on Met? Do you all think that it will help me even though my blood work can out the way it did. THANK YOU I GREATLY APPRECIATE IT!
