Insulin Resistance and Asthma???

I have been on Metformin for about 4 months now and have realiized that my asthma has all but disappeared. Usually if I'm within 5 feet of a cat or dog that sheds, I'm reaching for my inhaler - but it's gone! I actually walk my neighbor's golden retriever now every day and spend about 15 minutes playing
with him (he's so damned cute - 5 months old and frisky). I asked my RE about this at my office visit yesterday, but he said that he had not heard of any
connection.

I'm wondering if there is anybody else who has had a similar experience? I'm thrilled about it, but I'd like to understand why it happened. I'm thinking it
has something to do with testosterone levels, but I'm not sure. My brother and my nephew are insulin resistant and they both have asthma (and are not
currently being treated for insulin resistance) so maybe it's the "allergy" to all the insulin that makes us more susceptible.

I'd appreciate any input here.

Thanks,

Jen
