I was hoping that a doctor could respond to this question or someone who has had experience with breastfeeding and Metformin.
I'm presently in my 7th month of pregnancy and I want to breastfeed my baby. I want to get back on Metformin after the birth and I'm concerned as to what effects this medication may have on my baby if I breastfeed.
I would consider waiting a while before I start Metformin again, but I don't want to wait too long since its control of my PCOS has been amazing. I don't want to start that irregular bleeding and weight gain again.
Please help me if you can.
Also, I will be moving to Charlotte, North Carolina in November. Would anyone know of a reputable RE in that area that is educated on Metformin usage and PCOS.
