I am trying to make sense of what is going on inside me. Please forgive me for being so detailed...
I've been on metformin since mid March.
This is the sequence of events for my last cycle:
1. I took 100 mg clomid days 5 through 9 (6/4-6/8).
2. My doctor monitored via sono on days 11,13,15,and 17. All I had were two
or three follicles that were "10's". I was told on day 17 that nothing was
going to come of this cycle and that we should induce my period w/provera.
3. I took the provera from day 17 through 26 (6/16-6/25).
4. I began to have some tenderness and constant pain (not sharp, but always there)
on my lower left side. My doctor's office said that I could be ovulating! I was
concerned because I completed the provera and did not get my period yet. They told me
it could take up to a week to get it after stopping provera.
5. On day 34 (7/3) I consulted my doctor's office again and was told this time that it
could take up to three weeks to get a period!
6. The very next day I began to have severe cramping (no bleeding). A sono showed I had
a follicle of 13.5 on the left side. They claim not to have seen anything else and that I
should take motrin and gas-x for the pain. I continued to have pain all day that went all
the way up to my shoulders. I finally went to the hospital because I couldn't bear it any
longer. I was told that I did indeed have a cyst on my ovary that was 2.5 to 3cm that ruptured!
7. My RE's office still maintained that all the pain I had could've been from ovulation and that
my bloodwork showed I'd get my period within two weeks.
8. I ended up having a 36 day cycle and went in today for a baseline scan so I could begin a new
cycle with 200mg of clomid. I now have a 5cm cyst on my left ovary and cannot start the clomid.
If it does not get smaller, I may even have to have surgery!

My questions:
1. Should my doctors have realized something wasn't right? How could I have
a follicle in the morning and a cyst that ruptured less than 12 hours later?
2. I get conflicting information and I'm concerned. Should I consider finding
another doctor?
3. How serious is this cyst I have now? They told me no sex and only light
exercise. Can I do anything to make it go away? Not only do I have to worry about
this but I must delay my fertility treatments and delay any possibility of
conceiving.
4. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME????????????? AS YOU CAN TELL I AM VERY
FRUSTRATED AND UPSET ABOUT THIS.
5. THANKS FOR LISTENING. I HOPE YOU CAN HELP.
