Dr.
Here is a little history......
I am about 5'0 tall and weight about 110lbs, was diagnosed with PCOS about 1.5 years ago. I have regular periods every month (29-31 day cycles) and have the typical pearl like ovaries, some hirtuism and some acne. My doctor (RE) took one look at me and said that I do not have I.R. b/c I was thin and never tested me. He also never tested my
androgen/testosterone levels. I've been preg. 2 times since Jan 1999 (chlomid induced cycles 50 mg) and both times have miscarried in the 6th week. I usually see the heartbeat then it stops shortly after that. Usually on my 21 day progesterone tests my numbers range from 29 -34 and all seem to be normal during my first blood tests once preg. My questions are....

1. What tests should I be demanding at this point?
2. What is the cause for the increased mc rates in PCOS patients?
3. If I do test neg. for IR, will metroformin benfit me at all? I recently read a study that showed met decreased the mc rate tremendously.
4. What is the best way to find out if a doctor in your area is highly educated in PCOS?

I appreciate any advice you may have for me.

Antoinette
