Heather: To reiterate, I am not a doctor, but it doesn't sound like your first cycle (the one where you started bleeding on Day 9) was a "low dose" cycle. Generally, a low dose cycle starts with as little as half an amp and as much as 2 amps. (I have done three cycles, each of which have started with one amp and continued with one amp for the whole cycle.) The thing about the low dose cycles is that they tend to be longer -- ten days to as many as three weeks. You and your RE need to have patience. The good news is that you tend to only develop one or two follicles and hence have a low risk of hyperstimulation and multiples. I've gotten pregnant two out of three of these low dose cycles (though unfortunately miscarried for unrelated reasons both times). Is your RE familiar with this protocol? It's been written up in countless journal articles. Ellen Bender, AIA Board Member
