Gayle: I'm not a doctor so you may want to repost your question, asking for Dr. Stein or Dr. Spandorfer to answer. As far as I know (and again, I'm not a doctor), there is no contraindication to taking iron while on metformin. Good luck, Ellen Bender, AIA Board Member
